With over 900+ photo submissions, the photos speak for themselves in capturing the people, the landscape, and the lifestyle of Palm Coast in the City's 2022 Annual Photo Contest. Participants were allowed to submit up to 20 photos per person with five chances to win as a grand prize “Category Winner.”

Pets- Palm Coast residents love their pets! The Category Winner for Pets is Jennifer Bellerive for her photo submission of “Sleepy Loaf” – an adorable sleeping pup with his tongue hanging.

Recreation- One of Palm Coast’s greatest assets is our incredible recreation amenities! The Category Winner for Recreation is Mara Rush for her photo “Caught Fish.” In this photo, a successful fisherman is seen holding his rod and reel with a catfish on the line.

Nature-  With more than 130 miles of interconnected trails and scenic waterways, nature is all around us! The Category Winner for Nature is Les Goldberg for the photo “Bird Taking a Walk.” This photo captured a peaceful stroll by a feathered friend.

Events- One thing Palm Coast residents all seem to have in common is their love of local events! The Category Winner for Events is Eduardo Hernandez for his photo from this year’s “Touch-a-Truck” event at Central Park in Town Center. The photo shows a Rogers Towing truck hoisting the American flag high into the air for all to see.

Residents- We love to see residents loving where they live. The Category Winner for Residents is Alexander Lexington for his photo “Playground Adventures.” In this photo, a beautiful young lady is seen playing on the playground at the Community Center.

“It's always exciting to see what residents capture behind the lens of a camera. This year’s photo contest was the most successful one yet with over 900 photos from residents telling their stories through photography,” said Brittany Kershaw, Director of Communications & Marketing. “It was very difficult for the judges to choose just one winner per category, as there were so many incredible shots submitted. We are so proud of the winners, and we are grateful to all of the participants in their year’s contest. Even if you didn’t win, you can expect to see your photos showcased throughout the year for a variety of City projects and communications efforts.”

Category winners were recognized at the September 6th City Council Meeting and were awarded a variety of prizes including a gift card to a Be Local Buy Local business in Palm Coast. The local businesses selected by category winners were: Houligan’s, GoodWill, Massage by Natalie & Co, Green Lion Café, and Hot Yoga Lounge.

The next annual photo contest will take place during the summer of 2023. All photos submitted must be taken within the Palm Coast city limits.
