The City of Palm Coast is saddened to share the news of the passing of James “Jim” Canfield, Palm Coast’s first mayor and Chair of the Home Rule Executive Committee that helped lead the community through the incorporation process. He was 96. 

The City of Palm Coast has announced that temporary lane closures will be in effect along Colbert Lane at Waterfront Park Road beginning Monday, January 5, while construction is conducted along the roadway to remove existing pipes and install a new box culvert system in its place. 

The City of Palm Coast will close Kings Way at Old Kings Commons Shopping Mall from Monday, January 5, 2026, to Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
