My swale is flooded, what do I do?

Question

My swale is flooded, what do I do?

Answer

During normal weather conditions water in your swale can be anticipated and is expected during normal rain events. One of the functions of a swale is to hold some water so that it can percolate into the ground. During large rain events swales can fill up completely and take some time to recover, depending on how much rain fell. If your swale holds water for an extended period of time you can contact the City to have it evaluated.
