Remember To ‘Be Local Buy Local’ This Holiday Season

Thursday December, 09 2021

The holiday season is here once again and the City of Palm Coast reminds residents to "Be Local Buy Local" in support of local retailers and restaurants.

Buying locally helps to keep the money you spend circulating closer to where you spend it – in Palm Coast! If every resident of Palm Coast spent $25 at a local business in one day, it would infuse nearly $1.5 million into our local economy. Last year, the City of Palm Coast received $8.95 million in sales tax revenue, which can now be used to fund projects such as parks and trails, local amenities, road resurfacing, street light installations and more.

Palm Coast Mayor David Alfin and four local business owners took part in a Be Local Buy Local holiday shopping video as a reminder of why it is important to shop locally this holiday season. You can watch it on both the City website and the City’s YouTube channel.

Featured in the video are Jacqueline Hamilton of Chez Jacqueline, Jodee Soltes of Clean Eats Kitchen, Ginny Niebauer of Art Among the Flowers, and Tamar Boorstin of Wild Birds Unlimited.

These businesses and others are also showcased in the Be Local Buy Local Holiday Gift Guide compiled this holiday season by the City of Palm Coast. Thirteen local businesses are offering special promotions that are featured in the digital shopping guide.
