The City of Palm Coast hosted the 51st session of the Palm Coast Citizens Academy, which completed on Tuesday, May 3, with a graduation presentation at the City Council meeting.
This session of the Palm Coast Citizens Academy began on April 4, 2022 and introduced participants to all City departments over a five-week session. The graduates include Sandra Caslow, Alexandria Garcia, Frank Hines, Geraldina Jaffe, Phillip Jaffe, Jan Lewis, Eileen Sleight, Patricia Swenson, and Robert Vincent. All participants received certificates, a commemorative t-shirt, and a variety of City of Palm Coast novelties.
The Palm Coast Citizens Academy is a comprehensive program intended to educate residents on the ins-and-outs of the City government. The course is free and registration is limited.
Each five-week session takes participants through an in-depth look at City departments including Utilities, Stormwater and Engineering, Financial Services, Parks and Recreation, Community Development, Public Works, the Fire Department, and more! Along the way, participants also interact with all members of the Palm Coast City Council, the City Manager, City Directors, and City staff.
“The Palm Coast Citizens Academy is a great way to learn about your local City government and I’d encourage every resident of Palm Coast to complete the program,” Mayor David Alfin said. “It is a wonderful way to learn more about the inner workings of your local government and get your questions answered. Then, once you graduate, you’ll be more informed and can become an advocate for your City.”
