Hurricane Ian Updates for Tuesday, September 27, 2022

Tuesday September, 27 2022

Residents living east of I-95 and in flood-prone areas should prepare to evacuate. Flagler Schools cancels classes for Thursday and Friday.

In a release issued Tuesday morning by Flagler County Emergency Management, Flagler County residents are being urged to complete their hurricane preparations now before Hurricane Ian makes an impact.

This means that before the end of the day, residents should have:

  • Hurricane shutters and generators in place and ready.
  • Food, fuel, water, medication, pet supplies, critical papers, and family comfort supplies.
  • Porches and patios cleared of items that can create a hazard.

Additionally, Flagler County Emergency Services is asking residents who live east of Interstate 95 – or in mobile homes or low-lying flood-prone areas – to prepare to evacuate. More information on Palm Coast evacuation zones can be found here:

Also today, the Flagler County School Board announced that all Flagler County schools will close Wednesday, September 28th, and reopen on October 3rd. More information can be found here: https://www.palmcoastgov.com/emergency/evacuation-zones

  • All three Palm Coast sandbag locations will close Tuesday at 6 p.m. Palm Coast residents in need of sandbags may collect them at the following locations:
